The Master had the very difficult job of judging the Poetry Slam at Cubitt Town Primary School in May. A huge range of talent was on display as pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 performed poems to their peers, parents and staff. Even the nursery children joined in with a group poem at the start of the event.
The audience was entertained with spooky, funny and dramatic poems, many of which had been written by the pupils themselves. There were great feats of memory, props, acting and audience participation, all of which created a wonderful atmosphere and a memorable morning.
Everyone had their favourite but it was down to the judges to award first, second and third place based on performance, originality and oracy. No easy task!
