The Court is delighted to announce that Group Captain Nel Doherty will take up the role of Clerk to the Tallow Chandlers’ Company in September 2025. She is retiring after a successful 28 years in the RAF, including a challenging role as Station Commander (CEO) of RAF Gibraltar during Covid and Brexit, and a project to convert RAF Northolt from a commercial airport to a military air defence base for the 2012 Olympics, for which she was awarded an MBE. She has also completed an MBA, and, most impressively, a Masters in Defence and International Security Policy at Madrid, delivered entirely in Spanish, despite no prior competence in the language. She has a strong interest in education and is governor of a school.
